PM-Kisan
PM-Kisan is an income-support scheme that transfers a fixed annual amount directly to eligible farmer families in instalments.
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) provides income support to eligible landholding farmer families, paid in equal instalments directly into their bank accounts. It is a pure Direct Benefit Transfer, using digitised land and bank records to identify and pay beneficiaries.
The scheme aims to supplement farmers' incomes and help with input costs, with eligibility refined through verification and exclusion of higher-income categories. As one of the largest DBT programmes, it illustrates the shift from price-based farm support toward direct income transfers.
