Post-Hospitalisation
Post-hospitalisation cover reimburses follow-up medical expenses for a defined number of days after discharge that relate to the treated illness.
Recovery costs such as follow-up consultations, medicines, physiotherapy and diagnostic tests are covered for a fixed period after discharge, commonly 60 to 90 days, as long as they pertain to the same condition for which the patient was hospitalised.
Like pre-hospitalisation, these claims are typically settled by reimbursement against preserved bills. A longer post-hospitalisation window is valuable for conditions needing extended recovery, so the number of covered days is a useful comparison point between health plans.
