Emergency Medical Evacuation

Emergency medical evacuation cover pays to transport a traveller to the nearest suitable medical facility or back home when local treatment is inadequate.

A key benefit in international travel insurance, evacuation cover funds air ambulance or specialised medical transport, which can cost a fortune, when a traveller falls seriously ill or is injured abroad and needs to be moved for proper care or repatriation.

It often pairs with repatriation of mortal remains in the event of death overseas. For Indians travelling to high-cost destinations, this cover is among the most financially important elements of a travel policy, since out-of-pocket evacuation costs can run into very large sums.
